Connecting your own domain ensures marketing emails come from a trusted address and keeps deliverability high. It takes less than 2 minutes to connect the domain. It's also fast to verify you as the domain owner once you've added it.
Use this guide to walk you through the process of adding and verifying a custom domain.
Tips
- Use a subdomain (e.g. notifications.whop.com) dedicated to transactional traffic for best deliverability.
- Connecting your own domain ensures marketing emails come from a trusted address and keeps deliverability high.
- Using your own domain also helps you build brand recognition and trust with your audience.
Open the dialog
If you haven't added a domain yet, you'll see an alert banner in the top of the page. Click it to open the domain configuration dialog.
If you've already added a domain, go to Settings → Domains.
Fill out sender details
- Company Name - pre-fills with the name from your workspace. This is the sender name shown in inboxes. Update it if you want a different “From” label.
- Domain Name - enter the full URL you want to send from, such as
https://notifications.whop.com. The form validates againsthttps://URLs, so include the protocol. - Error hints appear below each field if the value is missing or invalid. Fix the issue and the error clears automatically.
Submit the domain details
- Click Save Domain to validate the inputs. The dialog sends the values, along with your company, user, and workspace IDs, to the domain API.
- If something fails, you'll see a toast with the error message. Adjust the form and try again.
- Once the domain is added successfully:
- The form resets and the dialog closes.
- The domains list refreshes automatically, so you can continue verification in Settings → Domains.
- You're redirected to the domains settings page to finish DNS steps like DKIM/SPF.
Domain verification (Using DKIM and SPF records)
- Copy the DKIM selector CNAME records and SPF TXT record from Settings → Domains.
- In your domain registrar (GoDaddy, Cloudflare, Vercel, etc.), open the DNS editor and create new records that exactly match the provided host and value fields.
- Save the DNS changes, then go back to Whop and click Verify next to the domain. DNS propagation may take a few minutes, so retry until both DKIM and SPF show as verified.
- Once verification succeeds, all marketing emails use the authenticated domain, dramatically improving trust and inbox placement.
Why do I need to add these records?
- DKIM verifies the sender's identity.
- SPF allows the email server to authenticate the sender's domain.
- Together, these prove the email is not spam or phishing.
- Without them, your emails may be marked as spam or rejected by email providers.
